Fabric breathability and moisture absorption

Fabrics with excellent breathability and moisture absorption are mainly composed of natural fibers and regenerated cellulose fibers.

Natural fiber fabric

01. Hemp fabrics (linen, ramie)

It is the "breathable king" of summer fabrics, with a unique cavity structure inside its fibers that can quickly dissipate air and sweat. Its moisture absorption far exceeds that of pure cotton, and it can quickly evaporate after moisture absorption, keeping the skin dry and comfortable. It is a fabric suitable for high temperature weather.

02. Pure cotton fabric

Cotton fibers have a natural hollow structure and hydrophilic groups, which can quickly absorb sweat from the skin surface. At the same time, air can circulate between the fibers, making them a classic choice for daily close fitting clothing. Especially for pure cotton fabrics with loose weave methods such as plain weave and mesh, they have better breathability and moisture absorption performance.

03. Silk fabric

Mulberry silk fiber has a porous structure and is rich in hydrophilic amino acids. It can not only absorb moisture efficiently, but also achieve air exchange through fiber gaps, with excellent breathability. At the same time, it has strong skin affinity and is suitable for making high-end close fitting clothing.

Artificial fiber (regenerated cellulose fiber) fabric
Lyocell (Tencel) fabric

Using wood pulp as raw material, the fiber surface is smooth and has a unique original fiber structure inside. It can quickly absorb a large amount of moisture (with better moisture absorption than pure cotton), and achieve good breathability through fiber gaps. At the same time, it has high dry wet strength, is not easy to deform, and balances comfort and durability.

Modal fabric

Also derived from wood pulp, the fibers are finer and softer than viscose, with better moisture absorption and breathability than ordinary viscose fibers, and can still maintain good breathability after moisture absorption. It is a commonly used fabric for high-end underwear and pajamas.

Copper ammonia wire fabric

The fiber has a circular cross-section and a coreless structure, with strong hydrophilicity and good moisture absorption. At the same time, the fiber gaps can form good air circulation channels, with excellent breathability and a silky luster, making it suitable for making lightweight and breathable shirts and dresses.

blended fabric

Blended fabrics of some natural fibers and recycled fibers (such as linen cotton blend and Tencel cotton blend) can combine the advantages of both fibers, retaining the skin friendly and breathable properties of natural fibers, while improving the moisture absorption and quick drying performance through recycled fibers, and improving the roughness of pure hemp or the wrinkling problem of pure cotton.
