Main characteristics and properties of nylon fabric
Nylon fabric

Nylon is the Chinese name for synthetic fiber nylon, also known as "Nailun" or "Nylon". Its scientific name is polyamidefibre, which stands for polyamide fiber. It is the world's earliest synthetic fiber variety, widely used due to its excellent performance and abundant raw material resources

Performance of Nylon

Strong and wear-resistant, with the highest fiber content in residential areas. Its wear resistance is 10 times that of cotton fiber, 10 times that of dry viscose fiber, and 140 times that of wet fiber. Therefore, its durability is excellent. Nylon fabric has excellent elasticity and elasticity recovery, but it is prone to deformation under small external forces, so its fabric is prone to wrinkling during wearing.
Poor ventilation and breathability can easily generate static electricity. Nylon fabric has good moisture absorption among synthetic fiber fabrics, so clothing made of nylon is more comfortable to wear than polyester clothing. Has good resistance to decay and corrosion. The heat and light resistance are not good enough, and the ironing temperature should be controlled below 140 ℃. Attention should be paid to washing and maintenance conditions during wearing and use to avoid damaging the fabric. Nylon fabric is a lightweight fabric and is only listed after polypropylene and acrylic fabrics in synthetic fiber fabrics. Therefore, it is suitable for making hiking clothes, winter clothing, etc.

Nylon 6 and Nylon 66

The full name is polycaprolactam fiber, which is polymerized from caprolactam

Nylon 6 and 66 filament have good low temperature resistance, and can withstand temperatures below minus 70 ℃
Its elasticity also does not change significantly. Its DC conductivity is very low, and it is prone to static electricity due to friction during processing. Its conductivity increases with the increase of moisture absorption rate and follows an exponential function with the increase of humidity. Nylon 6 and 66 filaments have strong resistance to microbial activity, second only to chlorinated polyester in terms of their ability to resist microbial activity in sludge water or alkali. In terms of chemical properties, nylon 6 and 66 filaments have alkali resistance and reducing agent resistance
